BMP or JPG?
BMP is an old uncompressed Windows format, so files are huge. JPG (JPEG) is the most compatible photo format, but it has no transparency and loses a little quality each time it is saved.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Pixfit runs inside your browser tab. The images are read, changed and saved on your own device; nothing is sent to a server.
Does converting BMP to JPG lose quality?
Saving to PNG is lossless. JPG and WebP at 90% quality look identical to the eye; lower it only if you need smaller files.
Is the photo date and location kept?
No. Pixfit writes a clean file without EXIF metadata, which also removes the GPS location of the photo.
