GIF or JPG?
GIF is an old format limited to 256 colours. Pixfit converts the first frame of animated GIFs. JPG (JPEG) is the most compatible photo format, but it has no transparency and loses a little quality each time it is saved.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Pixfit runs inside your browser tab. The images are read, changed and saved on your own device; nothing is sent to a server.
Does converting GIF to JPG lose quality?
Saving to PNG is lossless. JPG and WebP at 90% quality look identical to the eye; lower it only if you need smaller files.
Is the photo date and location kept?
No. Pixfit writes a clean file without EXIF metadata, which also removes the GPS location of the photo.
