HEIC is the format iPhones and iPads save photos in since iOS 11. It is small, but Windows, many websites and older apps cannot open it. PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, which makes photos large.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Pixfit runs inside your browser tab. The images are read, changed and saved on your own device; nothing is sent to a server.
Does converting HEIC to PNG lose quality?
Saving to PNG is lossless. JPG and WebP at 90% quality look identical to the eye; lower it only if you need smaller files.
Is the photo date and location kept?
No. Pixfit writes a clean file without EXIF metadata, which also removes the GPS location of the photo.
